Dopamine controls neuronal spontaneous calcium oscillations via astrocytic signal

چکیده
Dopamine is a neuromodulator and neurotransmitter responsible for number of physiological processes. Dysfunctions the dopamine metabolism signalling are associated with neurological psychiatric diseases. Here we report that in primary co-culture neurons astrocytes dopamine-induces calcium signal suppress spontaneous synchronous oscillations (SSCO) neurons. Effect on SSCO was dependent could be modified by inhibition dopamine-induced or stimulation astrocytic rise ATP. Ability to independent D1- D2- like receptors but GABA alpha-adrenoreceptors. Inhibitor monoaminoxidase bifemelane blocked effect also inhibited These findings suggest may stimulate release neuromodulators such as adrenaline thus

Intercellular communication via intracellular calcium oscillations.
In this letter, we present the results of a simple model for intercellular communication via calcium oscillations, motivated in part by a recent experimental study. The model describes two cells (a "donor" and "sensor") whose intracellular dynamics involve a calcium-induced, calcium release process. The cells are coupled by assuming that the input of the sensor cell is proportional to the outpu...
متن کاملSpontaneous calcium oscillations control c-fos transcription via the serum response element in neuroendocrine cells.
In excitable cells the localization of Ca2+ signals plays a central role in the cellular response, especially in the control of gene transcription. To study the effect of localized Ca2+ signals on the transcriptional activation of the c-fos oncogene, we stably expressed various c-fos beta-lactamase reporter constructs in pituitary AtT20 cells. A significant, but heterogenous expression of c-fos...
متن کاملChaotic Neuronal Oscillations in Spontaneous Cortical-Subcortical Networks
Oscillatory activities are widely observed in specific frequency bands of recorded field potentials in different brain regions, and play critical roles in processing neural information. Understanding the structure of these oscillatory activities is essential for understanding the brain function. So far many details remain elusive about their rhythmic structures and how these oscillations are ge...
متن کاملNetwork Dynamics and Spontaneous Oscillations in a Developing Neuronal Culture
Biological neuronal networks are highly complex and studying such networks is important to understand its functionality. Neuronal networks are dynamic especially during the developmental stages of the brain where new neurons and synapses form and will continue through the lifespan of an organism. Developing networks in in vitro often self-organize into functional networks that produce spontaneo...
متن کاملExtracellular Calcium Controls Background Current and Neuronal Excitability via an UNC79-UNC80-NALCN Cation Channel Complex
In contrast to its extensively studied intracellular roles, the molecular mechanisms by which extracellular Ca(2+) regulates the basal excitability of neurons are unclear. One mechanism is believed to be through Ca(2+)'s interaction with the negative charges on the cell membrane (the charge screening effect). Here we show that, in cultured hippocampal neurons, lowering [Ca(2+)](e) activates a N...
